March - August 2020    Consultant, Disney+

Oversaw the strategy leading to 19 Primetime Emmy nominations - including Outstanding Drama Series for The Mandalorian, a new record for a streamer in its inaugural year.

Phase 1 Advertising: Designed and secured media plan, wrote copy, advised on creative.

Phase 2 Advertising: Recommended media buys, wrote copy including radio ads, advised on creative.

Budget: Managed phase 1 advertising budget, insertion orders and invoicing.

Panels: Shaped the direction and tone of The Mandalorian and Togo Deadline’s Contenders panels via questions crafted for the moderators.

Trade PR: Created message guidance for streamer president’s interviews with THR and Variety.

Entries: Wrote/edited loglines, reviewed entries, suggested additional entries, made episode recommendations.

FYC Screening Site: Advised on assets: key art, episode synopsis, cast, craft and producer entrant credits.

Stats: Researched network tallies as well as major program nominations and wins going back five decades; created list of industry, cable and streamer Emmy record holders.

Processes: Created a process and operational protocol for client; trained for future expansion into fully operational awards department.

Consulted on CBS animated special Michael Jackson’s Halloween for Primetime Emmy Award consideration.

Sept 2017 - Feb 2018 / TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX TELEVISION - Consultant (four month maternity leave position)

Consulted on the studio’s 31 shows, interfaced with showrunners, creative contributors, network counterparts and talent reps on all aspects of submissions, ceremony planning and logistics for guild awards, NAACP Image Awards, Peabody, TV Academy Honors and Gracies.

2012 – 2017 / SHOWTIME NETWORKS INC. - Vice President, Awards & Film Festivals

Awards and Nominations:

  • Emmy: Honored with the most lead actor/actress series nominations for four straight years (2012 -2015)

  • Emmy: The first cable network to score the most Lead Actor Comedy nominations in a single year (2014, 2015).

  • Emmy: Homeland tied for most honored television program in 2012 with six Emmy Awards.

  • Golden Globe: Tied for most Golden Globes overall in 2014. Most series Golden Globes of any network in 2012.

  • Golden Globe: Led/tied for most series nominations (show plus performers total) for 3 straight years (2012-2014).

  • Golden Globe: Led with the most lead/supporting series performer nominations for 4 straight years (2012-2015)

Emmy and Golden Globe Campaign Strategy Highlights included:

  • Secured the first FYC panel of the season in 2017, offered Showtime’s streaming service to ATAS voters in 2016, planned a Penny Dreadful HFPA set visit at Ardmore Studios, Dublin in 2015, redesigned the Emmy awards streaming site and offered access to ATAS voters on multiple devices in 2014. Successfully lobbied the SAG Awards Committee to switch Shameless from Drama to Comedy, resulting in William H. Macy winning the SAG Award in 2015 and 2017. Selected a representative episode for all Emmy lead and supporting nominees and guest performer entrants, resulting in Emmy Awards for: Toni Collette, Joan Cusack, Claire Danes, Blythe Danner, Edie Falco, Allison Janney, Damian Lewis, John Lithgow and Merritt Wever. Selected episodes for Emmy drama series, comedy series and nonfiction series final judging.

Tactics included:

  • Produced 22 Emmy FYC Panels 2012 – 2017.

  • Planned 35 HFPA press conferences and set visits 2012 – 2017.

  • Planned 8 festival filmmaker dinners and world premieres at Sundance, Toronto and Tribeca in conjunction with the re-launch of Showtime Documentary Films 2013-2017.

  • Managed operating budget of 2.5 MM in 2012, increasing to 4.6 MM in 2017.

  • Emmy: Recipient of 7 Emmy Awards in 2010, the most series Emmy Awards of any cable network.

  • Emmy: 29 nominations in 2009, a 38% year-to-year growth, the most series nominations of any cable network.

  • Golden Globe: Honored with 8 Golden Globe nominations in 2011, the most series nominations of any network.

  • Golden Globe: Recipient of 3 Golden Globe Awards in 2010, the most series Golden Globes of any network.

  • PGA: Honored with 4 PGA nominations in 2009, the most of any network.

  • SAG: Honored with 6 SAG Award nominations in 2009, the most series nominations of any cable network.

Emmy and Golden Campaign Strategy Highlights included:

  • Conceived and launched Emmy 2010 coffee sleeve promotion, featuring Dexter star Michael C. Hall and special guest star John Lithgow. 118K heat sensitive sleeves were distributed throughout Los Angeles beginning May 7th for 30 days. DEADLINE

  • Pitched SHO Emmy streaming website to SAG, PGA and WGA, resulting in all three guilds allowing their voters to stream Showtime award eligible programming. As the first network to launch this initiative, it resulted in a reduced number of DVD mailings to the guilds, repurposed the streamed Emmy episodes and offered new episodes to guild members prior to network premiere. Additional participants: American Cinema Editors, Art Directors Guild, Casting Society of America, Cinema Audio Society, Costume Designers Guild, HFPA, Motion Picture Sound Editors and NAACP Image Awards. Launched Sept 2009.

  • Pitched/Booked Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe, Image and People’s Choice presenters (SHO talent) every year.

  • Selected clips for award ceremony on-air clip packages – for national and international broadcast.

  • Created/edited nominated guest actor/actress and casting reels for Primetime Emmy final judging.

  • Directed logistics for 20+ ceremonies annually including travel; hair/makeup, tickets, seating and media credentials.

Film Festivals:

  • Positioned documentaries and directed events for maximum exposure via world premieres, parties and filmmaker dinners at Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca and high profile regional film festivals.
